As we approach the Fall term, and our full Canvas transition, Educational Technology will be present at many campus events to offer assistance when and where you need it so that you can best prepare for our complete transition to Canvas. Below, you’ll find a list of many of the upcoming events, along with instructions to RSPV or enroll.

Canvas at Convocation – IT and EdTech will be there!

Educational Technology and Faculty Development Specialists will be on hand to answer questions, provide handouts, and schedule upcoming training. Come find our tables in the Wilson Center prior to and following Plenary. We will also have rooms assigned to offer on-site assistance following Plenary.  More information to come.

Canvas One-on-Ones

For migration assistance or any other Canvas assistance you need, drop in or email to schedule time with our Canvas experts.

Fall Term Canvas Day

Enroll in an official AFPD Canvas Basics or Advanced training class, or just drop in to a migration work session to get your course questions answered. Members of the Educational Technology team, Center for eLearning team, and the Faculty Development Specialists will be available to help answer your provide training and guide you through the process until you are completely Canvas ready!

When: September 13th from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Where: FSCJ Deerwood Center
What: Canvas: Basics, Beyond the Basics, Migration Lab, Turnitin, Grading/Rubrics, and work sessions. Full schedule will be posted soon.

Canvas Basics – Online Training

The same course that’s offered in person is also available online! The courses are self-paced, remain on your Canvas Dashboard as a reference and begin each month. Facilitators work within the course to grade, participate in discussion boards and answer any questions you have.

When: New Canvas Basics courses are offered each month, AFPD 3114. Enroll at any time using the information below.

How: Sign up for the month you wish to attend and join us in Canvas.

  • August: Class # 4355

  • September: Class # TBD

To register for an Professional Development course, follow these steps:

  1. Log into myFSCJ, click the “Students” tab.

  2. Click on “My Academics” and choose the “Student Center” link.

  3. In the “Academics” section click “Enroll,” and select the appropriate term with the “Professional Development” designation.

  4. Click “Class Search” and type in the class number in the “Search Criteria” section

  5. Select class.
